Strike outside the Happiest Place in Europe, as we are back for our second season of old Amazing Race recaps - Amazing Race Australia 2! Over these twelve weeks, three people who are sufficiently ploomphed - Logan, Michael & Michelle - are recapping a season that has an insane reputation amongst fans (which is completely justified), continuing with the seventh episode and first half of the double-length leg.
In this episode - Michelle deals with Grace, we rank French laughs, Joseph forgets Grace, we learn things about Steve, the editors make Grace look shallow, we wonder if egg whites are liquid, Grant gets fact checked, James should have done the Roadblock, Paul is a braggart, we wonder if it's "perfectly fine" to steal a taxi, James & Sarah reveal a shocking piece of behind the scenes information, the painter becomes a national stereotype, there's an unaired Detour, the Paris portion of the leg gets timed, we wonder if it's understandable that everyone had trouble with cars, Logan worries his family, there's a theme to the back half of the season's locations, we wonder if this leg is the toughest in Amazing Race history, Shane & Andrew go a bit Grand Theft Auto, Michael struggles with muscle cars, everyone bends the rules, Production underestimates everyone, Logan explains why you need to be careful in Cuba and we look ahead to next week's slightly controversial episode.
Thank you for listening - we will see you next week for Leg 8!
Please note: This episode is intended on being spoiler-free - however, as with our other historical recaps, this episode may contain references to episodes that we have already covered - namely from Seasons 3; 23-32; Australia 3; Canada 2-5 and Asia 5. It also includes a reference to an incident in Season 5.
Additional note: Even thought we know what stars they are, can we just talk about the choice to end the episode with Lucy & Emilia basically being damsels in distress?! This show...
